Our little girl turned two years old today! I can’t believe it. She is no longer a baby, but a little person- a little girl! Of course, she will always be my baby 😉
Since her birthday falls on a Monday this year, we decided to celebrate with friends and family over the weekend.
My sister came into town on Thursday to stay with us for a few days. We don’t see her often, so it is always nice when she spends an extended period of time with us. Plus, Vienna absolutely loves when aunt Lauren visits- she can’t get enough of her! It’s so cute.
That afternoon, we hosted my grandparents at our apartment. They enjoy seeing V when they get the chance (which isn’t very often. All of my family lives two hours east of us, so there is usually a few months gaps between when we see each other). My grandparents enjoyed watching Vienna play & talk and I know they love being great-grandparents.
On Sunday after morning mass, we hosted my mom and her boyfriend for brunch. Spinach quiche, Field Roast breakfast sausages, hashbrowns, oj, and coffee was on the menu. Delicious! Breakfast is my favorite meal (when there is more to it than just cereal).
That afternoon we had pie in the park with family members and friends. We had a homemade blueberry pie with freshly-picked blueberries from Saturday and we also had a Viennese lemon tart (which seemed an obvious choice given its name 😉 ). Vie ate pie, opened gifts, and played in the splashpad with her cousin and friend. She enjoyed herself 🙂
Asa took the day off work today so that we could all relax together after the busy weekend. We ate pancakes for breakfast, took Vienna to the store to buy a pet fish as her birthday gift, had my in-laws over for a short visit and drank coffee, played with Vienna’s few new toys, ate tacos for dinner, and had some leftover pie for dessert. Overall, a nice and relaxing birthday for our little Vie 🙂
